After the tremendous success of the Teen Takeover Event last November, the SCC has teamed up with DCC Arts office to launch the new SCC Teen Arts Collective!
Forget everything you know about “after-school clubs.” We’re launching a creative club at the Sandymount Community Centre—a space where you can hang out, take risks, and find your voice without anyone grading your work. The Sandymount Teen Arts Collective is officially kicking off, and we want you there! We aren’t here to give you a boring, pre-packaged programme; we’re here to give you creative freedom and to connect you to world-class mentors.
Name the Collective: Help define the brand and the vibe from Day One.
Plan the Calendar: Pick the workshops you actually want to do.
Get Hands-On: Jump into fun creative games and mini-projects right at the workshop to get the ideas flowing.
Own the Stage: Help us plan Open Mic nights, Game Days, and “Teen Takeover” gigs.
Give Back: Learn how to lead local festivals and show the community what your generation is actually about
As part of the Sandymount Culture Programme, our Teen Takeover Gig Night brought young performers, bands and spoken‑word artists onto a real stage to showcase their talent and energy in front of a live audience.
The Sandymount Youth Arts Collective is proudly supported by Dublin City Council’s South East Area Community Team and the DCC Arts Office. Their investment in our ‘Teen Takeover’ launch and the ongoing development of our engagement programme has been instrumental in establishing this creative sanctuary for local youth. We are proud to work in partnership with DCC to foster the next generation of Sandymount’s creative leaders.
